The European Union
The European Union (EU) has always recognised culture as a facilitator of social and economic development, a vector of intercultural dialogue and a promoter of human rights.
By committing itself alongside the OACPS in the AWA programme in support of cultural and creative industries, the EU intends to contribute to tracing new perspectives so that culture and the arts can fully and sustainably play their role as a driving force for economic and human development.

OACPS
The Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) is responsible for the cooperation of ACP countries with the European Union.
The ACP-EU Culture Programme is one of the main tools to support actions in the 79 ACP countries to recognise, promote and stimulate the cultural and creative economy. This approach follows the three main axes identified by the OACPS Secretary General, Mr Chikoti, at the beginning of his mandate: youth, women and the digital economy.
