Under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, it actively contributes to France’s diplomacy of influence. Its projects and programmes rely on a unique capacity for deployment through the vast global network of cultural services of French Embassies, Instituts français and Alliances françaises.

Of all the European cultural institutes in West Africa, the Institut français is the oldest and has the most extensive territorial network, allowing it to have a thorough knowledge of local cultural operators and to provide local support as close as possible to the needs expressed.

The Centre Culturel de Kôrè (CCK) in Ségou, Mali, co-applicant partner

The Centre Culturel Kôrè (CCK) is dedicated to the promotion and safeguarding of art and culture, education through art, social art for behavioural change, and the production and dissemination of works of art.
It is also committed to training young cultural and art-based entrepreneurs from Mali, Africa and elsewhere through its incubation programme entitled “Kôrè-Qualité”, in partnership with the Institut Kôrè des Arts et Métiers (IKAM).
The Centre Culturel Kôrè is a leading arts and education centre in Mali and in Africa more widely, meeting the requirements of artists and cultural operators by offering them options for specialisation and professionalisation in the fields of culture and the organisation and management of cultural actions.
Its work centres around four main components:
– Arts & Education
– Resource centre
– The production and dissemination of works of art and culture
– Heritage
