Valorisation Talent de Tombouctou
Essakane Productions was created in 2010 to meet the professionalisation needs of the team behind the Timbuktu Festival. Since then, it has developed and taken on projects in artist management, event management and organisation, and audiovisual production and broadcasting, notably for the Cultural Caravan for Peace.
The "Valorisation Talent de Tombouctou" project aims to identify artists among disadvantaged populations in isolated regions or in zones of conflict. After offering them a residency and supporting them in the production and distribution of their work, Essakane Productions will do its utmost to bring these talents to light through national and even international partnerships, by broadcasting live shows and using new music streaming platforms.
Valorisation des contenus numériques du Mali à travers la création et la production de jeu vidéo
BAMABIZ production is a communication, audiovisual and event production organisation. Its vocation is to be a laboratory for incubation and innovation in the creation and distribution of digital content and educational video games inspired by African culture.
This training and creative residency project is a logical follow-up to the 3rd edition of the Malian Video Game and Digital Festival, for the professionalisation of young people in the video game sector. Its objective: to train 12 girls and boys in the techniques of this industry and to distribute the content resulting from the creative residency at the next "Bamako Games Play".
Mon panégyrique, mon identité culturelle
The mission of the Humanist Writers Association of Benin is to make writing, books and reading tools and channels for socio-cultural development in Benin and Africa. It aims to become the leading book organisation in Benin, impacting at least 50,000 people by 2025 through various actions.
The "Akô" is an African custom from oral literature, a series of words of a laudatory nature that recounts the origins and achievements of a person, family, ethnic group or clan. In the face of modernity and industrialisation, this Beninese tradition is under threat. To safeguard it, the project intends to identify, collect and publish (books and CDs) clan panegyrics and train 30 young storytellers and slammers (15 women and 15 men) in composition and declamation.
Les Rencontres Musicales Africaines (REMA)
Identity, creativity and commitment are the values of La Cour de Naaba. Founded in 2007 to promote music in Burkina Faso, this association wishes to "make music a true vector for sustainable and visible social development on a daily basis. "
The Rencontres Musicales Africaines project is defined by its collaborative values and is based on a genuine sharing of "best practices". It advocates the promotion of gender equality and equal opportunities and also wishes to act in favour of the employability of young people. These annual business-oriented meetings are organised around a topical and strategic theme for the sector, as illustrated by the REMA 2022 topic "African music, a new ecosystem: players, professions, tools. "
Kriol Jazz Festival
Founded by José Da Silva, producer and manager of Cesaria Evora, Harmonia LDA carries out cultural development projects through both music and audiovisual production, as well as organising events such as the famous Kriol Jazz Festival and the Atlantic Music Expo trade show.
A victim of the pandemic, the Cape Verdean cultural sector is struggling to recover. In an attempt to revitalise this still very fragile economic sector, the project aims to relaunch the "Kriol Jazz Festival". After 10 years, it has become a key event in jazz and world music. Reviving it will allow the local population to live off this economy (revival of tourism and events created around the festival), and will also allow African and/or Caribbean artists who have not been able to perform for two years to return to the stage.
De la Scène à la Toile
The Fabrique Culturelle is a venue in Abidjan located at the crossroads of a working-class neighbourhood and an affluent neighbourhood, which allows it to fulfil one of its principal missions: social diversity. Its multidisciplinary programming (theatre, dance, music, circus, cinema), its residencies and its mediation activities make it a meeting place for artists, audiences and schools.
Driven to experiment with digital broadcasting by the closure of cultural venues during the pandemic, the cultural space La Fabrique noted the public's interest in this format. This is how "From the stage to the Web" was born, a project of physical broadcasting on the La Fabrique stage and digital broadcasting. It is the extension of the physical space on the web, through a dedicated platform, to guarantee regular programming on stage and to reach a new audience (diaspora, students, etc.) through digital distribution.
TOP 10
Established as a cultural association in 2012, La Galerie Médina's mission is to contribute to the creation of an emerging market for contemporary Malian and African art and to ensure the promotion and sale of quality works in Mali, Africa and the world.
Their "TOP 10" project consists of a vast artistic introspection intended to lead to an exhibition that is both a retrospective of the last 10 years and a prospective of the next 10 years. A selection of 10 shortlisted artists, both established and emerging, of all generations, will present their projects to a jury of professionals. The exhibition of these works in the Medina Gallery, the production of a film and the publication of a catalogue will contribute to the promotion and distribution of cultural assets.
The Lost Maestros – Volume 2
Although Mali is the leading exporter of African music, most of its musical artists record for foreign labels. The Mieruba label was born in 2014 out of a desire to produce local artists and to help them emerge on the national and international scenes.
As a follow-up to the successful first opus, which brought together 8 singers and musicians, volume 2 will put women in the spotlight. The 8 female singers and musicians invited to Ségou for a residency will be accompanied by 7 rising stars of the Malian music scene to record an EP each, with a view to broadcasting on streaming platforms and distributing LPs and CDs internationally. At the end of the residency, they will begin a series of concerts.
A film and a photo report will trace the key moments of the project.
Projet de formation des jeunes à la création-utilisation du Gourmi
Culture Art Humanité is an NGO founded to promote cultural diversity in the improvement of the living environment. It also aims to raise awareness of health, environmental, security and social issues. To do this, it has developed a national, sub-regional and international cultural network.
The reinforcement and enhancement of the Nigerian musical network is based on the training of 40 young people from the Schools of Artistic and Cultural Training (EFAC) in the production and use of the Gourmi, a traditional and popular musical instrument that features in all Nigerian musical compositions. The opening of a shop in Niamey and the setting up of an online sales facility for the musical instruments created will complete this project.
Musée Mobile Gnonnas Pedro Gnoinsope
Art of Africa is based on values such as humanism, independence, responsibility and professionalism. It works to immortalise the rich intangible heritage represented by the work of Gnonnas Pedro, a musician of genius, while promoting the cultural and tourist potential of Benin and Africa.
The aim of this project is to create a travelling version of the semi-permanent exhibition "Gnonnas Pedro, Nin non déké migblon do a" ("let's not forget what we agreed") at the eponymous museum. This digital exhibition will travel around Benin and will make it possible to transmit the educational, civic and community values conveyed by the works of this music legend, who passed away in 2004.
