Founded in 2019 by Aicha Chighaly, the Mauritanian company ARDINE works on promoting and preserving intangible oral and traditional heritage. Working hand-in-hand with the authorities, it draws up recommendations to enable identity-based, organisational and societal values to be better taken into account.

As a seasoned artist and avid traveller, Chighaly quickly became aware of the importance of museums in preserving heritage and the history of identities. The result was the ARDINE museum and festival, both the fruit of the ART’DUNES project.

These two spaces for expression, one focused on heritage preservation and the other on showcasing traditional artistic creation, are united by a desire to ensure that Mauritanian cultural memory lives on.

The association has already been very successful, with some one hundred women and 300 young people trained in different crafts and the making of instruments, including the ardine, the t’beul and other percussion instruments.

The Laboratoire d’agriculture urbain (Urban Farming Laboratory - LAC de Lassa) is a production studio working on climate issues and the protection of biodiversity in Bamako. Its team offers training and workshops on sustainable development and urban farming practices, as well as cultural, art and craft-based activities.
The aim of this project is to support image education and the development of digital dissemination resources for Malian cultural assets, by encouraging the practice of pottery. It hopes to promote expertise, raw materials and ceramic-making techniques.

Denguele Misri Ni Kourou

The NGO Les Citoyens du Livre et des Arts du Denguélé is committed to the promotion, enhancement and popularisation of Ivorian culture and heritage. It carries out actions in favour of education and the empowerment of youth, especially young girls, in this north-western region of the country.

The cultural heritage of the Denguélé locality, due to its geographical remoteness, is in a state of oblivion. This is why the "Denguele Misri Ni Kourou" initiative has set itself the goal of highlighting its centuries-old Sudanese-style mosques, whose architectural style dates back to the 14th century. The 3D digitisation of four historical sites will allow their promotion, their conservation in time and space, the creation of jobs (direct and indirect) and the promotion of cultural and creative entrepreneurship.
